Large number of Yoga schools that have mushroomed in the West, the term ‘Yoga’ has come to mean physical exercise or a process by which the body can be strengthened. However, the term ‘Yoga’ actually refers to a ‘Union with the Supreme’. Yoga is the means by which Yoga (union with supreme) can be attained effortlessly. This Yoga can be realized only by the grace of the Siddha (Perfected) Guru, without any willed effort on the part of the disciple. ‘Effortless’ here means that the disciple only has to do the practice, he does not have to set specific goals to achieve. The spiritual transformation will happen of its own accord. 

The practice of GSY involves chanting (mental repetition) of a divine mantra and meditation.  A divine word — to chant silently round-the-clock and meditation. Besides chanting of the mantra, the disciple is also required to meditate for 15 minutes each, two to three times a day. Method of Meditation - Sit in a comfortable position: Crossed –legged on the floor / mat and if unable to fold legs, on a chair / couch. One can also lie down (if unable to sit) to meditate. Close your eyes and tell yourself that you will meditate for 15 minutes. Think of Guru Siyag’s photo in the space between your eyebrows. Repeat Guru Siyag’s Yoga mantra silently (mentally) without moving tongue or lips. You will come out of meditative state in 15 minutes. Meditate in this manner twice every day for 15 minutes.

ध्यान का तरीका
आरामदायक स्थिति में फर्श, सोफे, कुर्सी आदि पर, पैर मोड़ कर या फैलाकर सुविधानुसार बैठें. (बैठ न पाने की स्थिति में लेटकर) 
आँखे बंद करके, गुरु सियाग का फोटो सोचते हुए 15 मिनट के ध्यान के लिए प्रार्थना करें,
इस दौरान गुरु सियाग के मंत्र का बिना जीभ या होठ हिलाए मानसिक जाप करें,
आप 15 मिनट बाद आपने आप ध्यान से बाहर आ जायेंगे, (आरम्भ में अलार्म लगा सकते हैं)

ये ध्यान रोजाना सुबह–शाम (15–15 मिनट) करना है, और बाकी समय चलते फिरते, घरेलू कार्य करते अधिकतम नाम-ज़प करना है|
